Baba Yaga is one of Relda Grimm's oldest friends. She is a thousand year old witch, who was there when Willhlm Grimm first landed the boat on shore of Ferryport Landing. She is the most powerful witch in the town and probably the oldest too! She ownes a house which has chicken legs, enabling it to run away from enemies. She is not pleasant when she is angry. An example of this is in the 4th book (Once upon a crime) when Sabrina tries to steal back the wand of Merlin that Uncle Jake gave her by using the shoes of swiftness. She gets turned into a frog by Baba Yaga because and baba yaga threatens to eat her, claiming she (Baba Yaga) hasn't had frog legs in ages. And then is the fith book (Magic and Other Misdemeanors) where somebody steals the wand of Merlin, and then Baba Yaga goes to town, and sets fire to most of the buildings, after accusing Sabrina of theft. She is a strange ally for the Grimms but time and time again they turn to her for help. It was Baba Yaga who set the barrier around the town with Wilhelm's help, trapping both Everafter and Grimm alike. In the final book (The Council of Mirrors) she becomes part of Daphne's covern and helps defeat the Master.
